Thank you 2025 Donors! ♥

Whoa—what another iiincreeedible few weeks of fundraising for one of my favorite holiday traditions: Santa Speedo Run. Held each year at the start of winter, this beloved Chicago event raises critical funds for the Center on Halsted.

2025 marked my third year taking to the streets in a speedo (and this year, an ultra-festive track jacket—because it was VERY cold). Thanks to an incredible community of supporters, I raised over $2,600, nearly $300 more than last year.

I was deeply inspired by the support from friends, family, coworkers, and even complete strangers. Beyond fundraising for a phenomenal Chicago organization, this event reminds me of my own capacity to set a goal, manage a project, bring people together, and fully lean into the belief that anything is possible once I commit. The run keeps me connected to the magic of me—planning, communication, and community-building—all wrapped into one unforgettable mile.

This year’s run came with unique challenges, however. Shortly before Thanksgiving, I was sidelined by a mild but painful condition in my left foot—Morton’s Neuroma—which left me hobbling, unable to clench my toes or walk without a limp. After a doctor’s visit, a few days of painkillers, and some diligent at-home rehab—voilà!—I was back in decent shape to hit the pavement… especially if I could do it naked. I healed. I recommitted.

But then, there was the weather! Chicago experienced its coldest, earliest, and snowiest winter onset since the 1970s—record-breaking cold, ice, and snow before winter had even officially begun. I genuinely wondered if it might be too cold to run outside basically naked. Many people, day-of, didn’t run. But, I ponied up and took to the street. I enjoyed the mental challenge.

What kept me focused was knowing that this small, one-mile trek through North Halsted is something special—and that my run was fueled by the generosity and belief of people who showed up for me. Thank you to this phenomenal 2025 community for donating not only money, but encouragement, trust, and enthusiasm. Every one of you made this run— and record breaking—possible.
